Just 7 days ago, 10 February, the all clear was given, but today the Mercy University Hospital (MUH) has reintroduced visiting restrictions due to new cases of influenza.
The hospital is restricting hospital visiting with the exception of the children’s ward and critical care areas.
The hospital has invoked visitor restrictions in the interest of patient safety. The situation will be continuously reviewed and the hospital is again seeking the public’s cooperation with the restrictions.
The hospital will deal with any exceptional cases on an individual basis.
People with flu-like symptoms are advised to telephone or visit their GPs, in the first instance, rather than presenting at the hospital’s Emergency Department.
