Excitement is building around Shandon, where a cultural tradition of
Halloween will be seen in the coming hours.
The annual Dragon of Shandon Parade is the culmination and highlight
of of the new Dragon of Shandon FESTIVAL.
Almost 300 costumed performers will escort a 36 foot dragon throught
the winding streets of the old section of Cork
around shandon this evening.
Spectators are being encouraged to follow the parade, and dress up.
It all starts at 7 o’clock from the Butter Exchange Building taking in
John Redmond Street , Mulgrave Road , Popes Quay , Shandon Street ,
Church Street and finishing again at the Butter Exchange.
Aoife Potter-Cogan works the the Cork Community Art link year round
and says this is their flagship event every Halloween
