A Jewish man who survived the holocaust in Nazi Europe has received an
award in Cork this weekend,
For his supporting truth and reconciliation;
Tomi Reichental was born in 1935 and is one of only two Holocaust
survivors left in Ireland.
He has received the “VoxPro Diplomat Global Achievement Award”
VoxPro is a Cork Company and it’s directors Dan and Linda Kiely made
the presentation on board the Naval Ship LE Samuenl Beckett
in the presence of the Minister for Defence, Simon Coveney TD, and
almost 100 Ambassadors and Honorary Consuls.
Tomi Reichental remained silent about his experiences for over fifty
years, but like many survivors he then wrote a book and now speaks
about his experiences to Leaving Certificate students in schools
