The Cork Farming accident comes at a time when authorities are striving to
promote a greater awareness of Farm Safety.
As last weeks Ploughing Championships The Minister for Agriculture Simon
Coveney launched “What’s Left Behind” video campaign,
which features people talking about their own experiences.
There have been more than 20 farm deaths this year, a 100% increase on last
years 10 in the same period.
The ending of quotas is going to see a lot of young farmers increasing
their herd size which will mean more animals, and more machinery on farms
The National President of Macra na Feirme Kieran O’Dowd speaks frequently
about farm safety.
and in particular the importance of Children being careful around heavy
equipment
