News that Minister for Food Simon Coveney is backing a National Food
Centre for Cork City has been welcomed by businesses on the Grand
Parade.
The former Capitol Cineplex cinema has a strategic location on the
Grand Parade, facing towards Washington Street, but it’s been vacant
since 2005.
The property is now in NAMA, but there are amitious medium term plans
to convert the building into a centre of excellence for Food.
Minister Coveney is confident that a partnership can be reached
between the City Council, NAMA and the owners of the site to develop
the complex.
Minister Simon Coveney says its one of around 7 key projects that he
wants to progress in the Southern Capital.
