Tourism figures are up by 10.3%
3 and a half million people visited Ireland between January and June this
year,
which is 324,000 than the same 6 months period last year.
It’s thought that “competitive pricing” is helping to boost the numbers.
“International awareness” thanks to initiatives like the Wild Atlantic Way
Driving tourism route are also behind the increase.
Kinsale is the start of the 2,500 kilometre Wild Atlantic Way which heads
up the Western seaboard,
and many traders in the town are delighted with the boost.
Celebrity chef Martin Shannahan from Fishie Fishie Restaurant says he’s
even considering driving
the Wild Atlantic Way himself!
