Plans to mark the centenary of the sinking of the Lusitania NEXT YEAR are
progressing.
May 7th 2015 will be the 100th anniversary of the World War I tragedy
Almost 2000 people lost their lives back in 1915 when the passenger liner
was torpedoed by
a German U-Boat.
Next May Cobh will hold a number of events.
It follows on from the successful centenary of the Titanic in 2012.
A task force made up of Cork County Council, Cobh Tourism, The Port of Cork
and others are planning the commemorations.
Commercial Manager with the Port of Cork Captain Michael McCarthy has been
telling TheCork.ie about the plans so far….
