Tonight is Bonfire Night, or Saint Johns Eve
It’s expected to be the busiest night of the year for the fire
services is tonight
Last year there were almost 70 fire service call-outs and
fire-fighters put out 37 illegal fires
Sinn Fein Cllr Chris O’Leary says rubbish, which has been mounting
over the past week, should be removed by Council workers today again
to discourage the lighting of illegal fires
There has been a downward trend in the number of bonfires over the
last few years thanks to a greater awareness of the dangers to local
property, people, and the environment.
Last year 10000 people attended safe community events organised by
City Council this year again they will take place at the following
locations
