The 8-month campaign to restore a “full bus service” to the Glen,
Blackpool and Dublin Hill has succeeded!
More than 40 residents met last night in the Glen Resource Centre.
They voted by an overwhelming majority to accept proposals from the
National Transport Authority and Bus Eireann
The plan will mean 19 buses per day either in or out of the Glen, plus
re-instatement of a bus service down Dublin Hill into Blackpool
village.
The new service will be called the 207A and will begin on Monday, May 26th
The N-T-A will be asked to note smaller community concerns about the
need for an extra early morning bus, wheelchair accessibility, and a
request that an extra bus-stop on Dublin Hill be used.
Bus Action Group chairman Cllr Mick Barry from the Anti Austerity
Alliance says it’s a good result
