The Jameson Experience, Midleton, is reintroducing its Premium Shuttle Bus service from today until mid-October, following huge take-up of the service last year. This year visitors will travel in style on a 36 seater coach thanks to a partnership with a private bus company.
The Premium Shuttle Bus service will operate twice a day at 10am and 2pm, every day until mid-October. Tourists and locals wishing to visit the facility will be picked up and returned to a dedicated St. Patrick’s Quay stop and taken directly to the Jameson Experience, which is based in the heart of Midleton.
The facility, which recently announced record half year visitor numbers, will be expecting to see a further increase in visitors thanks to the service. General Manager, Ignacio Peregrina, said:
“We are pleased to bring back the Shuttle Bus, which we believe will again be a great boost to the facility and the Midleton area. Promoting responsible consumption is extremely important to us so we are delighted that visitors based in Cork City can now choose to enjoy the tutored whiskey tasting, the complimentary whiskey cocktail following the tour, or simply a glass of wine with their lunch in the Malt House Restaurant, without having to worry about how to get home. Now that we have a new partnership with Cronin’s Coaches we plan on bringing the service back every year from May to October, with the possibility of an additional winter service depending on demand.”
Jameson Experience Package
The Jameson Experience package will cost just €17 per adult, €16 per student and €35 per family (2 adult and 3 children). The package includes return transport from Cork to Midleton and a fully guided tour of the Old Distillery’s production process and a signature Jameson whiskey drink for the adults. Volunteers from groups taking part in the tour are also offered an opportunity to partake in a tutored whiskey tasting. Tickets for this package can be purchased at the Tourist Office located in Patrick’s Quay.
Each tour at the distillery lasts just over an hour and tours commence every 30-40 minutes. The Jameson Experience is open throughout the year seven days a week, from 10am to 6pm, with the last tour at 4.30pm.
Cork Whiskey Way
Visitors to Cork can also take part in the new Cork Whiskey Way, which we wrote about on TheCork.ie just over a month ago.
The Malt House Restaurant
At The Jameson Experience visitors can also enjoy the sumptuous fresh food that is served from the Malt House Restaurant, famous for its true Irish menu such as “Ballycotton Seafood Chowder”; traditional “Bacon & Cabbage”; the “Warm Chicken Salad”; freshly baked desserts and of course, Irish coffees! There is also a new Early Bird Offer for groups of 25 persons at the distillery costing €45.00 pp and starts at 6.00pm daily. Group enquiries require prior booking with the Reservations team.
