The “Free Curry” which will feed 5-thousand people in Cork City Centre tomorrow as part of the Saint Patricks Festival, has been prepared, and packaged this afternoon in Bishopstown
80 Catering students from Cork Institute of Technology chopped up the donated vegetables earlier today over 3 hours.
The “Cork Food Policy urban dining initiative” will dole out the curry at on the Grand Parade tomorrow at 1pm
The project is highlight how food is wasted in today’s society. The meal is made from surplus vegetables rejected by supermarkets, for being the wrong shape or size.
UCC Geography Lecturer Dr Colin Sage is Chairman of the Cork Food Policy Council, which itself will be launched tomorrow at 12.30 by the Lord Mayor.
