Cork’s St Patrick’s Festival will run over three days from March 15th to
17th
culminating with the parade at 1pm on the Monday.
3-thousand people will take part, and up to 100-thousand visitors are
expected.

A Former Lord Mayor of Cork wants to see designated “alcohol-free zones” in
the city centre
for St Patrick’s Weekend.
Fine Gael Cllr John Buttimer has written to organisers of the three day St
Patricks Festival
asking them to consider the idea which would encourage more families to
attend.
Cllr Buttimer says the excessive outdoor drinking of previous years creates
an “intimidating atmosphere”
