A Cork City Councillor says Leeside would be happy to host Garth Brooks IF
two of the country singers concerts have to be moved away from Dublin.
At present Garth Brooks is scheduled to play 5 gigs in Dublin’s Croke park,
but some local residents are considering a legal challenge
to oppose two of the five over fears that they won’t be able to leave
their homes for a week due to crowds.
Cork City Fine Gael Councillor Emmet O’Halloran has now written to the Cork
County
GAA Board and Aiken Promotions asking them to consider Cork’s Pairc
Ui Chaoimh as an alternative, if Garth needs a new venue for two of his
nights.
Clllr O’Halloran, a Former Deputy Lord Mayor, said last summers Bruce
Springsteen
concert in Cork proved that the so-called “second City” CAN handle the
crowds
