It may be a cold, wet January day today in Dublin [yes that is true –
Editor!] but it certainly brightened up when a lucky Co. Cork woman
popped into the National Lottery offices to collect her cheque for
EURO 588,144. The happy winner won her prize in the Lotto draw on Saturday
18 January 2014. Six lucky ticketholders matched the first six numbers
out of the drum that evening to share the jackpot prize of over EURO 3.5
million.
The lucky woman, who wishes to keep the win private, said: “I checked
my numbers the following day on Teletext. I had to ask a family member
to check the numbers again for me, just to make sure they corresponded
with my ticket. I was so shocked when I realised I had won that I had
to sit down and have a cup of tea!”
Chatting about how she might spend her winnings, she said; “I will
decide at a later stage but firstly, I would like to look after my
family.
She bought her lucky ticket in Meaneys Centra Foodmarket,
Dromcollogher, Co. Limerick on the day of the draw, Saturday 18
January 2014.
It was a record-breaking Lotto draw on Saturday 18 January 2014. Six
Lotto ticketholders won the jackpot – the highest number to share a
jackpot since the 45 number Lotto matrix was introduced in November
2006. All six winners chose the numbers 4, 5, 13, 21, 29, and 37 on
their playslips.
There is only one lucky jackpot winner yet to claim their EURO 588,144
prize. They bought their ticket in:
* J.J. O’Driscoll’s Superstore, Ballinlough Road, Cork. It was a EURO 20
single draw ticket with Plus bought on Friday 17 January 2014
This Wednesday’s Lotto jackpot is heading for EURO 3 million. Play Lotto
