Passenger numbers at Cork Airport are expected to grow by 4 percent this
year;
It will be the first increase since the high point of 2008, when a record
3-point-25 million
million people passed through the terminal in one year.
This years growth forecast follows a number of route expansions announced
in recent weeks,
including a new Cork-Newcastle Aer Lingus Regional flight for this summer.
A “Head of Aviation Marketing” for Cork will be appointed in the first
quarter of this year.
and – while Cork Airport is still part of the Dublin Airport Authority –
Cork’s Marketing Manager Kevin Cullinane says it IS successfully
competing with Dublin and Shannon for new business
