Plans for a new 4.1 million euro library on the Northside of the City have
been approved by City Hall.
The new Hollyhill library will be built on the grounds of Terence MacSwiney
Community College.
Construction work will begin in the new year.
The new library will form part of a public plaza facing the existing
Community building on Harbour View Road.
and it will include multi purpose community space on the first floor.
Local Fianna Fail City Cllr Tony Fitzgerald has been a long time campaigner
for the new library.
He says the project, along with the overall Regeneration Programme,
and new developments at Hollyhill Industrial estate,
are proof that the City Council ARE investing in the Northside.
