On Thursday November 7th over 100 young people from
across Cork county will meet at the Clarion Hotel to attend
the annual Co.Cork Youth Council, Comhairle na nOg.
The theme for this year is “The World We Want” – it will
explore how this generation can address the challenges of
the present and the future. The day will aim to highlight
what Cork in 2013 offers for young people and the Cork of
the future. Young people will discuss and debate a range of
issues that are affecting and of interest to them.
Comhairle na nOg is an initiative of the Department of
Children and Youth Affairs to give young people from across
Cork County a forum to share their ideas and help make a
difference.

and national issues such as Junior Cert Reform, the young
peoples constitutional convention, lowering the voting
age to 16; as well as making regular contributions to the
Cork County Development Board and Cork Joint Policing
Committee.
The day will be offically opened at 10.30 am by the Lord
Mayor Noel O’Connor at 10.30am
