Junior Chamber Cork (JCI Cork), in association with Redmayne Bentley Stockbrokers,
have launched a Fantasy Stock Market Competition.
The competition is free to enter and at the end of a six week period (4 November to 13
December), the participant with the most valuable virtual portfolio will win €500!
Those interested can enter online, via www.jcicork.ie and entry is free. Participants will be
given a virtual $100,000 to invest in stocks and they will then be able to trade and keep track
of their virtual portfolios online during the course of the competition.
In looking forward to the competiton, Brendan Hayes, President of JCI in Cork, stated that
“as part of JCI’s training program, we encourage our members and the general public to ‘learn by doing’. What better way to learn how to work the stock market than maintaining a virtual portfolio.”
Brendan continued,
“we are delighted to once again be teaming up with Padraig O Riordan
and his team in Redmayne Bentley Stockbrokers, who have previously hosted training
seminars for our members. We hope that all participants will get something out of the
competition.”
Anyone with queries about the competion should email the organisers at
virtualstocks@jcicork.ie. The competition is open to anyone aged 18 years or over and full
terms and conditions apply are available on www.jcicork.ie. The deadline for applying is
Saturday, 2 November 2013.
