Today at 5pm the new E Centre will be officially opened in Bandon, Co
Cork. It’s located on 27 South Main Street.
It’s been operational since earlier in the Summer.
Bandon is the latest edition of the E Centre community; E Centres are
already available, and in use, in Macroom, Bantry, Millstreet,
Charleville and Fermoy.
What is an E Centre? Well it’s a building where new businesses can
avail of subsidised modern office space.
Back in 2011 Cork County Council started the “Economic Development
Fund”, part of which was to assist communities to start locally-owned
facilities for business people and would-be entrepreneurs. This
initiative is called the E Centres project. The fund is available to
not-for-profit community and business groups who wish to start such
facilities. The E Centres are locally owned but join a supportive
network of such centres throughout Cork in partnership with Cork
County Council and state enterprise agencies.
Start-ups, remote workers and fledgling businesses looking to manage
costs effectively, will be able to avail of a state-of-the-art E
Centre in Bandon. The E Bandon Enterprise Centre will provide office
facilities, hot desking and broadband
