Ireland’s first sea plane service takes to the skies for its maiden
voyage this July, 10th at 10am.
It’s from the Company which had once hoped to offer flights from Cobh
in Cork to Kinsale and surronding areas.
So far Cork plans haven’t progressed but the company is ploughing
ahead elsewhere in Ireland.
Based at Mountshannon, in Co Clare, Harbour Flights offers scenic
tours of stunning Lough Derg & surrounding areas including King John’s
Castle in Limerick, the Burren and the majestic Cliffs of Moher.
Five years in the planning, Harbour Flights is the brainchild of
C.E.O, Emelyn Heaps, an aviation enthusiast & Clare resident with
extensive tourism expertise.
“Our intention is to connect Ireland through its waterways, lakes,
rivers, and estuaries by offering scenic flights that criss-cross the
country, says Heaps. This is one of the most exciting Irish tourism
innovations in many years. We want this service to make the citizens
of Ireland proud.”
When fully operational, Harbour Flights will create up to fifty new
Irish jobs. This ground-breaking tourism initiative, showcasing
Ireland from a wholly unique perspective, will maximise visitor
experience while allowing for quick & easy transfers between key
destinations. While initially based in Clare, plans are advanced to
expand further afield into Dublin, Galway, Limerick, Foynes, & Cork.
In its first year of operation, Harbour Flights will carry 10,000
passengers across Irish skies & will be a major attraction for the
towns & cities in which it is based.
