McMahons, Water Street, Cork has won the Cork City & County Award in the
Octabuild Builders Merchant Awards 2013.

This was the 19th Octabuild Builders Awards. The companies who organise the
awards as Octabuild are; Gyproc, Evo-Stik, Dulux Paints, Irish Cement,
Kingspan Insulation, Sanbra Fyffe, Tegral and Wavin.
McMahon’s, Water street is a 100% Irish owned Independent Builders Merchant.
Founded in 1832, McMahons have been trading for 25 Years in Water street,
having taking over from Barry’s Timber. The store offers quality building
supplies & DIY materials to the trade & public and supplies to Cork city,
suburbs & County. They have a new online purchasing experience for
customers, currently with free delivery.
The Munster and overall national awards were won by Richard Boyle & Sons
(2004) Ltd, Killorglin, Co. Kerry.

A Lifetime Achievement Award was also presented to Michael Doyle, Topline
Doyles, Carlow.
Speaking at the awards the Chairman of Octabuild Jim Loughran, said, “The

chosen to reflect the relationship we have with builders merchants in
Ireland. It is a message that has held firm for almost 30 years. Octabuild
