Cork City face a tough task as they travel to Sligo on Saturday to face the
league leaders.
City put an end to a run of three games without a win thanks to Shane
Duggan’s late winner against UCD at Turner’s Cross last week, and manager
Dunne says that Sligo will be tough opponents for his side: “You don’t
really get much tougher than a trip to Sligo. It’s a major test, but it is
a good place to go and the pitch is relatively good from what I have seen.”*

“Sligo are the top team at the moment: they are consistent, they are
scoring goals and they are not conceding many. For us it is a really tough
task, but we are looking forward to the game. In a sense we have nothing to
lose and we will go up and perform. We have prepared the right way, we are
looking forward to it and we will give it a good go.”****
Darren Dennehy serves the second game of a two match suspension after his
sending off against Shamrock Rovers. Dennehy’s absence means that Dunne has
limited options in defence, with Kevin Murray and Dan Murray both ruled out
of the tie. Neal Horgan has been out with a knee injury in recent weeks and
will be assessed at training this evening, with Dunne hopeful that he will
be fit. ****
