More than 75-thousand has been spent on sending Cork City Councillors
to Conferences and Seminars in the past 13 months.
Around 20-thousand euro was spent on “Conference, Seminar, and Training fees”
And 52-thousand went on food, drink, mileage and Hotels.
while around 1,700 was spent on flights abroad.
The figures were obtained by Sinn Fein Cllr Chris O’Leary who asked
the City Manager for a breakdown of costs.
Within Cork City Council Sinn Fein’s five elected representatives do
NOT attend conferences, because the parties LOCAL position is that
“they are a waste of money”
Chris O’Leary says Conferences have become a way for some Councillors
to supplement their incomes, and for private companies to make a profit.
