A startup Cork Technology company which tackles online fraud and identity theft
has announced it’s secured “a quarter of a million euro” in Angel funding.
TrustEv uses data from services like Facebook, Twitter and Linked-In
to provide reassurance to online sellers that a person entering a credit card number, is in fact the owner of that card.
At the moment an estimated 1-point-2 per cent of online transactions turn out to be fraudulent,
and the Cork company hopes to tackle this.
TrustEv is based in Blackrock and DC Cahalane, Chief Marketing Officer explained to TheCork.ie what they do
The company has come up with a novel competition to promote both itself and Cork.
