The Emergency Services in Cork are appealing to Motorists to be careful on the icy roads this morning. In West Cork, a car driven by woman with a young boy as a passenger slipped into the Courtmacsherry Estuary earlier. The accident happened around 9am at slow speed, between Courtmacsherry and Timoleague, where the road and estuary are almost level. The woman had been driving the boy to Nursery school, when her car slipped on the then icy road. The pair were quickly rescued by locals, and were treated by Doctors from “West Cork Rapid Response”. Gardai, and the Fire Brigade from Clonakilty attended the scene. The car was later pulled from the Estuary.
