France have apppointed a new official representative in Cork.
Solicitor Patrica Mallon from the firm of Eoin C. Daly Mallon on the South Mall is the new Honorary Consul for France.
It means that 15 countries now have Consulates in Cork
An Honorary Consul is effectively an unpaid, part-time ‘diplomat’ – to use the colloquial term- and countries which already have Ambassadors in Dublin, often choose to cement their presence by appointing Honorary Consuls in second and third cities in a Country.
