Labour TD for Cork South-West Michael McCarthy has welcomed news that renovation works on Ballydehob Garda Station will be completed by the end of the month.
Deputy McCarthy said: “This is a pleasing development on an important local issue that I have been working on for several weeks now. Minister of State Brian Hayes, who is responsible for the OPW, has confirmed to me that works on the accommodation quarters attached to the town’s Garda Station will be finished by the end of the month in a move that will no doubt be welcomed by the local community.
The work involves insulating the exterior walls and painting the interior of the accommodation quarters. Tenders for the work were recently sought and the tendering process was finalised this week.
This follows ongoing work between myself, the local community and Minister Hayes, whom I have been closely liaising with on this matter. I look forward to the work being completed later this month.”
