Tesco Extra Douglas has re-opened today following the recent flooding which
caused the store to temporarily close its doors for a clean-up operation and
refurbishments.
Speaking about the re-opening, Geraldine Casey, Store Operations Director, Tesco,
said; “We are delighted the store has re-opened this morning. For the past week
almost 300 people, including store staff and contractors have worked around the
clock to make sure everything was in place for our customers this morning.”
Geraldine continued: “The store now looks better than ever and we look forward to
welcoming our customers back over the coming days and weeks. Given the damage
which occurred during the floods, this has been an extraordinary turn-around.”
During the temporary closure of Tesco Extra Douglas, Tesco offered a free bus
service for customers every hour between Douglas and its Mahon Point store. Tesco

The store, which is located in Douglas Village Shopping Centre, opened in 2009
and replaced the existing Tesco Douglas – previously known as Quinnsworth Douglas – which opened in 1971. Tesco Extra Douglas is open 7a.m. to midnight Monday to Saturday and 9a.m. to 11p.m. on Sundays.
