John Mullins, President, Cork Chamber today welcomed the announcement that Pernod Ricard will create 60 new jobs as part of their €100 million euro investment at the Irish Distillers plant in Midleton, Co Cork.
Mr Mullins said, “This is a very significant investment by French drinks company Pernod Ricard and a great boost for the distillery based in Midleton which is responsible for the majority of all Irish Whiskey produced in Ireland today. The sale and export of Jameson has been growing at an incredible rate, especially in the US, South Africa, Eastern Europe and Russia and expansion of the Distillery is now necessary to meet orders from these international markets”.
“We are delighted the company has chosen to invest in East Cork which is a real vote of confidence for this region and we assure the management team of the continued support of the business community”.
