A SECTION of the old Cork to Dublin road, famous for speedtraps, is to have its speed limit INCREASED! from the end of the month.
When the motorway Bypassing Fermoy opened in October 2006, the speed limit on the old N8 fell from 100 kilometres to 80, after is was downgraded to a “Regional Road”
However, many drivers and locals felt it was done to force them to use the Motorway, and pay the toll.
Cork County Councillor Frank O’Flynn has been lobbying on the issue since ’06 He is happy that from the 26th of this month the limit will be increased back to its original 100 kilometres
