Cork City will be looking to make it three wins out of three against Salthill Devon tomorrow night, as Tommy Dunne’s side play their final home fixture of the 2010 season. A 1-0 defeat to Finn Harps last Friday ended City’s faint hopes of making the promotion play-offs, but Dunne says it is still important that his side collect three points at Turner’s Cross: “While the play-offs are now beyond us, it still is our intention to win the game and finish as high up the table as we can.”
Dunne also confirmed that a number of players from the club’s youth sides will again feature in the squad, including striker Danny Morrissey from the Under 17’s: “Against Finn Harps we had to bring a few younger players in due to the number of bodies we were missing, and this game offers us the opportunity to have a look at some of the young players again.”
City welcome back George O’Callaghan, Eoghan Lougheed, Shane Barrett and Billy Woods who all missed the trip to Finn Harps, but Kieran Kenneally (ankle) and Simon Holland (nose) both miss out after sustaining injuries in Donegal. Dunne will also be without Stephen Mulcahy, Greg O’Halloran and Cathal Lordan, while captain Cillian Lordan (knee) and midfielder Shane Duggan (foot) are also rated as doubtful. Dunne also confirmed that Neal Horgan again misses out due to his commitment to St. Finbarr’s, saying: “Neal will not feature as St. Finbarr’s will contest the Senior Football County Final on Sunday. On behalf of all at the club, I would like to wish Neal and everyone at St. Finbarr’s the best of luck.”
