The Seandun final of Macra na Feirme senior debating was held at the Fir Tree in Watergrasshill last night where Glanmire challenged Knockraha Macra by proposing the motion ‘that this house believes that reality television does more harm than good’

The Glanmire team put forward some very convincing arguments in what was a highly entertaining debate. However, the motion was judged to be defeated and so Knockraha were deemed as Seandun Debating Champions 2016.

However both teams will progress to compete in the next stage of the competition which kicks off in January 2017.

Also on the night Knockraha club member Michelle O’Callaghan was awarded best speaker. This rounds off a great month for Knockraha in the public speaking area of Macra where Knockraha debater Siobhan Kelleher was also awarded the National Impromptu Public Speaking title earlier this month.

Previous winner of the Macra na Feirme senior debating competition include Carrigaline, where David O’Sullivan (of TheCork.ie) was a teammember.

Well done who all who took part in the Seandun debating final and best of luck in the next round!
